SD Zoo
We recently went to the zoo with some of our favorite little ladies. It was such a great day. The San Diego Zoo is beautiful and we had a great time.
Here is a picture of Travis and Matt. Oh how life has changed. I feel like they have changed baseball equipment for baby strollers. The zebras were going a bit crazy, and the flamingos had cute little babies.
3 Months
Abby is 3 months old. Well she is really 3 and a half months old, but I'm a bit slow on the post (again). Maybe one of these days I will be on top of my game and get it done quick.
Abby has been a true delight. She started smiling a lot. She is such a happy baby. In the morning her daddy can get her to squeal because she is so happy. It is just precious. The only bummer is every time I take the camera out her smile disappears and she looks a bit concerned. I call it the elusive smile.
Some notable things at 3 months:
1. We took our first longish car ride, 7 hours. Abby did great and by great I mean she slept most of the time.
2. She has slept 7 and a half hours straight. We don't get this often, but there have been a few nights of 7 plus hours.
3. She is really strong. She holds her head up and loves to look around. She will kick her feet and try to push off of you and sit up.
4. She hates the bottle (not so great). There have been a few times when she is with Matt just crying for an hour until I come home. :(
5. She is a morning person. So far. The mornings are her happy time where she loves to giggle and squeal.
6. She has enjoyed watching Euro Cup with me and wants Germany to win it all. I guess she watches a little College World Series too, but I'm not sure who she wants to win for that, I'm not even sure who is still playing.
Dumpster Dive
I have to say that I'm not too good for a dumpster dive every once in a while. Okay not a dumpster dive, this was more of a curb pick up. Saturday I drove past a nice chair that was out on the curb for free. I drove past and thought hmmm I've really wanted a nice chair for our side room. This one looked a bit dingy (okay really dingy). But in my head I thought if we could just dye the cover maybe it would work. I asked Matt and he completely rejected the idea. Later in the day I made my way over to the curb to get a closer look. I have to say it looked worse than I thought. But then I realized there was a slipcover on it. So I pulled up the slipcover up and found a wonderful Pottery Barn label. Then I ran... yes ran home and told Matt we had to get it. He was a bit annoyed (rolled his eyes) but got his truck to pick up my find.
So after pulling the gross slip cover off and a bit of vacuuming here we are.
Today I caught Matt sitting in the chair. I think one day soon he will admit that it was a good find. Now all I need is a new slipcover!
